CALIFORNIA MEDICAL FUND
MISSION STATEMENT
Talk About Curing Autism (TACA) is a California-based 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization providing support and education for families affected by Autism. Since TACA’s inception in November 2000, this organization made up mostly from volunteers has grown from 10 families to more than 2,300 families.
TACA now serves its members in eight locations across California, focusing primarily on building a community for families affected by autism. Ninety-five percent of what TACA currently provides is free.
The 2007 medical initiative and fundraising efforts for the California Medical Fund and Dr. Jerry Kartzinel look to help families with urgent medical needs for their children affected by autism. Many families have been told there is no hope, no treatment, no cure for autism. What makes Dr. Jerry Kartzinel different from all the other medical practioners is his firm belief autism is biomedical in nature and is treatable. Many families are seeing their children greatly improve and some recover from the depths of autism by providing biomedical intervention for medical conditions under the care of Dr. Jerry Kartzinel.
The goals for TACA and these fundraising efforts:
- Provide scholarship care to families that have no health insurance or need additional financial assistance to meet the gap between their current health coverage and what their child needs. Since the inception of the fund, approximately 30 California families receive some level of scholarship care including; appointment fees, lab tests, and complete treatment for their child affected by autism.
Our goal – based on fundraising efforts – is to open scholarships for 3-5 new families in the 2nd half of 2007 in addition to the existing families served.
- Expenses for hosting Dr. Jerry and his staff for attending to over 100 patients during April through November 2007.
